Miguel Guerra Sketches Steampunk at the Musée des Arts et Métiers
Living in Paris has definite advantages. Miguel and I were lucky enough to see the Machines Dessiner exhibit at the Musée des Arts et Métiers (October 25, 2016 to February 26, 2017). While marveling at the art of François Schuiten (artist) and Benoît Peeters (writer), the museum offered an unexpected treat. The very last room, at the end of the exhibit, gave newly inspired visitors a chance to sketch for themselves. And that’s exactly what Miguel and our daughter decided to do. With large wooden desks, blocks of good quality paper, pencils and some steampunk worthy machines and contraptions, how can anyone resist? Unless you’re our son, who pretended to take a nap on the desk. I guess you can’t please all of the people all the time.

Jules Verne Inspired Steampunk Metro Station
In case that’s not enough, Schuiten shows how to let your imagination join the utilitarian world. He designed a steampunk style metro station in Paris! The Arts et Métiers metro stop is across the street from the Musée des Arts et Métiers.
